Wednesday Social Evening 19th March

Last Wednesday evening a group from the Kitchen Sessions (see their Facebook page here) came out to Dalton House to provide the entertainment for our regular Wednesday Social Evening. Freeman Pat Shortis and Jim Cody aka “The Wetlands Orchestra” along with Jack Dooley, Paddy Barry, Jamie Mc Cormick and Liz Kett made the trip to Gowran. The Group were accompanied on mandolin by Paul Brett and on accordion by John Phelan both of whom are regular entertainers at the Wednesday Social Evening.

The nigh was a great success with the one complaint being the night finished too early. As is usual at our social evening everyone is given the opportunity to sing a song or play an instrument if they choose. At the end of the night, to the delight of the crowd attending, Pat Shortis presented prizes to some of the singers.

We at Dalton House thank Liz Kett for arranging the night and a big thanks to the musicians and singers of the Kitchen Sessions. We look forward to a return visit.

Below are some photos from the night and at the bottom is a small video of Pat Shortis and Jim Cody performing.
